In French, fleur-de-lys means "lily flower." Decorative ornaments that resemble the fleur-de-lys have appeared in artwork from the earliest human civilizations. It has consistently been used as a royal emblem, though different cultures have interpreted its meaning in various ways.

This particular Fleur de lys pin/pendant from the Victorian (ca1880) era is simply marvelous! Crafted in 14kt rosy yellow gold, the entire front surface of the piece is covered in a wonderful design of natural seed pearls. The pearls, which vary in size, have a beautiful luster and look wonderful paired against the gold setting. The back of the piece reveals a bar pin as well as a small swing-down bail, allowing it to be worn as either a pin or a pendant. This classically beautiful piece is very refined and would look wonderful pinned in place or worn on a gold chain. A must for any collection!

Measurements: As a pendant, the piece hangs 1 5/8" long, is 1 1/8" wide and slightly less than 1/4" at its thickest point.

Condition: The overall condition of the piece is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold. The bail and bar pin are both secure and in good working condition.
