As valued employees, they receive a range of benefits, including free education for their children at a school connected to our workshop. Goodbye Plastic Beads - Hello Handcrafted Clay Beads
Pressed out 2 by 2, our beads make their way through the hands of our artisans. Then, fired in a kiln to over 2100 degrees to ensure they are durable and waterproof. After careful inspection they then make their way to their new home, on your wrist! Using our classic MudLOVE stamp set the founder inherited from his grandmother, every bead is rich in meaning since we started in a garage in 2009. Read more about our story !
An Art Teacher, a Kid, and Some Thread
The cord for our Friendship Bracelets is no ordinary cord, it's a hand-woven bracelet made from Egyptian cotton thread and is adjustable in size. We called this bracelet a Viona, because it's named after our founder's elementary school art teacher, Mrs. Viona Brown. At a young age, she taught him how to create this bracelet, and little did she know that 25 years later it would be a staple product to the brand and would change the lives of Haitian women in the Dominican Republic forever.
