A stunning convertible pendant/pin from the Edwardian(ca1910) era! Set in 14k gold, this beautiful hand carved cameo depicts Roman style bust of a woman with flowing, curly hair and a laurel wreath atop her head. The cameo is carved in striking blue lapis and is surrounded by an intricately enameled border. The enameling alternates between beautiful deep cobalt blue and a bright turquoise color and is in excellent condition considering the age of the piece. At the crest of the cameo's 14k border is a plumed setting, including additional enameling surrounding a bezel set lapis cabochon, with a gold jump ring allowing this piece to be worn as a pendant. The jump ring portion is hinged and can be folded back to convert the piece into a stunning pin, which would be secured by a hidden c-catch pin. It is a stunning piece and would make a great addition to any collection!
Measurements: The pin measures approximately 2 3/4" tall with the top portion extended, 1 7/8" tall with it folded, slightly less than 1 1/2" wide, and 5/8" at the thickest point.
Condition: The overall condition of the pin is excellent. There is no apparent damage to the cameo or metal and all of the enamel is intact. The c-catch clasp and the hinged joint are both in good working condition.
