Artist: Geoffrey Barker
Materials: Copper, Sterling, Enamel, Stainless Steel
Dimensions: 6"x4"x.5"

Artist Statement: The basic form of this piece was made in a workshop with Helen Carnac -- I don't know how many years ago. It's been a while. And while I can't remember the when, I do remember the workshop in great detail. There have been scant few instructors who have been able to take me outside my comfort zone without a lot of kicking and screaming. Helen is such an instructor. This exhibition gave me the inspiration and opportunity to pick up this project where I left off so many years ago. It's been very fun to finally finish it.

Artist Bio: Geoffrey is easily distracted, curious, handy, untutored, a dabbler, a dilettante, occasionally ham handed, unqualified, uncertified, unreticulated, under rated, autodidactic, a serial hobbyist, a putterer, an enthusiast, a potterer, a maker, a non-master, inexpert, a savage barbarian, Tall but getting less tall, not a philistine but sorta, unfinished.

Fabric Motif: Bamboo, a symbol of good luck also represents resiliency with its ability to spring back after experiencing adversity.
