An impressive painted portrait pendant from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This artistic piece, which is quite substantial in size, is comprised of a painted porcelain plaque that rests within a gold-filled twisted rope border. The porcelain has the hand-painted image of a young girl who sits gazing ahead, her hands clasped below her chin. The detailed image is incredibly lifelike, including delicate waves of golden hair and fine facial features. A bar pin and c-catch clasp is attached to the back of the piece, allowing it to be fastened to a favorite garment. A wonderful example of Victorian era portrait jewelry, it would make a lovely addition to any collection!

Measurements: The pin measures approximately 2 3/8" tall, is 2" wide and 1/4" thick.

Condition: The overall condition of the pin is good. The piece shows some minor signs of normal surface wear that is commensurate with age for a Victorian era piece. The painted image remains intact, and the porcelain plaque is secure within its prong setting. The reverse side of the piece shows some areas of tarnish, which is normal and not visible when worn. The pin clasp fastens securely and is in good working condition.
