A stunning Scottish agate circle pin/pendant from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This beautiful 14kt gold piece forms an open circle lined with richly colored agate stones, each cut into a triangular shape. A pattern of flat bloodstones are inlaid into the surface, alternating with raised pyramidal carnelian stones. The color of the deep forest green bloodstones pairs beautifully with the rich, burnt orange carnelian! A very fine etched motif lines the gold seams along the surface of the piece, a wonderful finishing touch. On the back of the piece is a pin clasp and a hidden ring bail, allowing it to be pinned to a favorite garment or worn on a chain. A maker's hallmark with the initial "R" can be found at the base. A very special piece, it would make a wonderful addition to any collection!

Measurement: The pin has an outer diameter measuring 1 7/8" wide, and an inner diameter measuring 1 1/4" wide. The border is approximately 1/4" wide and thick.

Condition: The overall condition of the pin is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting or etched details. The pin clasp and ring bail are secure and in good working condition. There is an natural patina on the surface of the gold, which is normal for Victorian era jewelry. All of the carnelian and bloodstones are intact. There is some light surface wear that includes a few tiny chips in a few of the carnelian stones, which is not noticeable when worn.
